About Us
- Michael “skelm” Skelton
Skelm started playing and studying strategy for Limit Hold’em in 2004 earning his early day winnings at Treasury Casino in Brisbane, Australia to pay his way through a Computer Science degree. After completing his degree he created his own software development business (http://codingo.com.au), but soon enough his poker winnings overtook his earnings, he closed the business, and started playing online Limit Hold’em full-time.
He played up to $30/$60 limit Hold’em and started with StoxPoker in mid 2007 as the Production Manager, with duties such as scheduling coaches, producing content, support, liaising with the public on the forums. His duties in the company were many, which resulted in a dialling back of time spent on poker, and he eventually decided to switch to No-Limit Hold’em.
Michael handed his resignation in for Stoxpoker.com in December of 2009 to return to poker full-time and make his way up the No-Limit stakes. At the moment his focus is on his game and Professional Poker – Away From the Table, a book he is writing with his student, Johnny.
- Johnny “dutchin” Van Ling
Johnny went to the same high school as Skelm, and after moving interstate to Sydney, kept in contact via MSN messenger. He learned of online poker and brokered a coaching and staking agreement in April of 2009 with him, after playing and studying after work for 6 months he is making a profit at .25/.50 Online No-Limit Hold’em, concentrating on Heads-up.
In December of 2009 Johnny and Michael devised a plan to write a book about the non-strategy topics of poker, including analytical software, coaching, staking, and equity and EV calculation programs.
This idea was picked up by Dusty Schmidt and Imagine Publishing and is currently being written with a projected distribution timeline of 3-4 months, hopefully making it available by April 2010. Johnny is still currently employed full-time as a Linesman and is looking at making the jump to full-time poker professional in 2010.
